There are sites that will do all your comparative shopping for you and show the best price.  I often do a search for something I'm shopping for and also read reviews of manufacturer specifications and prices before I buy. I also (like most online shoppers I'm told) often shop on line and then go to the store and buy.  If I have time there's nothing like hands-on purchases and knowledgeable sales people.

For reviews I like CNET, Computer Shopper,  And magazine sites like PCWorld & PCMagazine.
