AOL Tips & Tricks ......

AOL fancies itself the most user friendly e-mail and Internet service available. I find the Microsoft products more versatile. With the Internet Explorer I can open several versions of it, each going to a different location, and I can click back and forth between those on my task bar which is always visible. I also like being able to use the "Send To" item in the file menu to send links to my desktop.
That said, a recent client added AOL as a backup provider ( See two ISP's) and was delighted with the ease of it. She LIKED having just one program open that did everything from e-mail to chat to stock portfolios to search engines to favorites etc.
Those who've only known AOL find the two program Microsoft method clunky and complicated. Here are a few of the AOL tips I teach most:
Where's my download? Ever download an attachment only to have it say "All finished" but you never see it or find it again?
How can I attach a picture? You can click the "Attach" button on your new "Write" mail. OR you can mail from your picture gallery.
Keep your phone line free while you read and write e-mail.
