About New Computers ......

To Upgrade or Buy: (12/1/00) R & M had a 4 year old 133 mHz computer purchased and upgraded by a local company.  With Windows 95 and 64Mb RAM, it's surprisingly zippy except when loading Internet graphics of course.  At first we talked about upgrading the modem from 33.6 bps to 56K.  Then we discussed purchasing Norton Anti-Virus.  That plus a bench or home service fee would mean improvement and safety for less than $200.  Well worth it.  Problem solved, right?  Wrong.  The outcome

The Ugly Computer:  T & G have a lovely home office with two great work stations, lots of windows and room to walk around.  This does not mean they want two feet of a fat monitor atop a desk and a monstrous tower on the floor or adjacent table.  They absolutely DO NOT.  So size is a priority when they shop for a new computer.  But they also want a full size keyboard and a flexible ergonomics i.e. NOT a laptop.  We shopped for a very stylish solution!  More
