What I do: Teach you in your home to use your computer
in your own way. I also provide free e-mail support and follow-up.
Remote support! If you are far away this summer
and need help I can connect with you on Yahoo chat and then log into your
computer if necessary to see what you're doing!
What it costs: I charge $45 to
$60 per hour for home visits ..less for classroom and more for business
training.
You keep a list of questions, problems and tasks. We cover that together
plus offer suggestions for more enjoyment of your system. These rates can
be shared by more than one.
Other services:
 Shop or help
shop new equipment, consult & handle upgrades, provide services i.e. I sometimes
do the tasks so you don't have to.

How I shop for computers:
1. Chip type : Power!
2. Memory: 2Gig Minimum
3. Size
4. Toshiba & Acer are favored by local service techs because they are able
to get parts where HP, Dell, Sony & others want you to ship the computer to
them.
I know I pay more for small.
And if I buy the cheapest machine I will get "invisible" low end parts such
as a wireless adapter that has maximum snail speed, or a video card that
can't run the latest video technology without hesitation. So once I get the
chip right: core 2 duo or quad equivalents, then I watch the sales and
markdowns to try to get something for nothing. I consider that fun!
